About Overwatch

Overwatch is a team-based hero shooter from Blizzard Entertainment, known as Overwatch 2 until it was renamed Overwatch in February 2026. The game uses 5v5 matches, with each team built around one tank, two damage heroes and two supports.

Because balance patches change hero strength often, an Overwatch tier list is best tied to a rank and a patch. A hero that dominates in low ranks can feel very different in coordinated play.

What to consider when you rank heroes

  • Strength in your rank
  • Ease of learning
  • Synergy with team compositions
  • Performance on different map types
  • How fun the hero is to play
