  • All-time history and championships
  • Uniforms and branding
  • Stadium and fan experience
  • Your own loyalty

NFL tier list questions

Why does this list not include Super Bowl counts?

Title counts change every season and go stale quickly, so the write-ups stick to history that does not change, such as founding dates, divisions and stadiums. Records are easy to look up on NFL.com.

Do the teams reflect recent moves and renames?

Yes. The list uses current names, such as the Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers, and the write-ups mention earlier locations where relevant.

How should I rank NFL teams?

Common criteria include history, current roster, stadium and atmosphere, fan base, uniforms and your own loyalty. Many fans rank teams in tiers by how much they enjoy watching them play.
